New Zealand - My Dream Wedding, Honeymoon and Holiday Destination!

New Zealand is a small country but there is so much to do and see. About the size and shape of Great Britain or Japan, it has a population of only four million people so it's gloriously uncrowded.

Populated around only a thousand years ago, New Zealand is one of the world's most pristine destinations, with a third of the land protected as a park or reserve. The landscape of New Zealand is spectacularly beautiful and includes vast mountain chains, steaming volcanoes, sweeping coastlines, mangrove - fringed inlets, deeply indented fiords and lush rainforests.

A temperate climate with relatively small seasonal variation makes it an ideal all year - round is a haven for those seeking romantic getaway, peace, rejuvenation and relaxation as well as a playground for thrill seekers and adventurers. Whether you are dreaming for a romantic wedding on a beach at Waiheke Island, or to be surrounded by the breath-taking beauty of New Zealand's highest peaks and glaciers, New Zealand is the perfect wedding, honeymoon and holiday destination. To be honest my story is not so interesting and out of the ordinary. I fell in love and we decided to get married. But, where?

I know that everyone dreams about their wedding being the one day they will always remember. Well, I can say that my wedding day was truly special, but the best part was that it was not only one day - it was a whole month as we also had our honeymoon in New Zealand. What made it so special was my dream, my dream to visit New Zealand. I know that it probably sounds strange and you are asking yourself - why New Zealand? Is it because it is on the other side of the world or maybe because it is so amazingly beautiful, or because of its outlandish scenery, superb food and wine, fine festivals and fabulous outdoor activities.

Whether you decide to get married in New Zealand, have your honeymoon in New Zealand or just go for a holiday, I can assure you that it will be a trip of a lifetime and one that you will never forget.

To this day I don't really know the reason. I know however, that I fell in love with New Zealand and I am sure that you will too.I can also say that I keep dreaming about my next holiday to New Zealand and maybe even one day of relocating there- then I will honestly be able to say that I am living my dream!

7 Reasons To Choose Tuscany for Wedding Venues

Wedding in Tuscany... Why not?

photo product: tuscandream.com
1. History & Art
Every where you turn the wealth of history and amazing art is everywhere in Tuscany. From a simple statue carved into an old building to the works present in Florence's Uffizi museum, there is certainly much to appreciate. Although the majority of art is spread in some of the larger towns like Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Pisa there is certainly much art and history in some of the smaller medieval towns like San Gimignano, Volterra and Pienza.

2. Local Culinary Specialties and Products
I can't possibly forget the delicious local produce and the artisans. What makes Tuscany unique is each small town has their own culinary specialties or offers an interesting local product. From the various percorino cheese, cured meats, olive oils, truffles, porcini mushrooms... etc etc the local products will not disappoint your taste buds! Not to mention the various products produced by local artisans... ceramics, articles made with olive wood, watercolours etc. there are plenty of things to choose from for authentic guest gifts or wedding favours.

3. Quaint Hill Top Towns
Traveling through Tuscany by car is a great way to enjoy small quaint medieval hilltop towns like Monterrigioni, Cortona, Volterra, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montelpuciano, and Pienza to name a few of my favourites. Celebrating a wedding close to or inside one of these medieval towns is a great way to celebrate in true Italian style. The photo opportunities are endless!

4. Tuscan Charm
Can't forget Tuscan charm! If there is one thing you can not replicate are all the small details that make Tuscany so unbelievably special. The ruins of an abandoned church in the countryside, ivy growing on a door, the simplicity of a few wrought iron chairs... this is true Tuscany!

5. The Seaside
We can't forget that Tuscany has a beautiful seaside. From the long sandy beaches and pine forests along the coast of Versilia to the natural beauty of the coast of Maremma the Tuscan seaside does not disappoint and can be a stunning backdrop for a dream Tuscan wedding.

6. Wedding Reception
Here is where you can really start dreaming as the Tuscan possibilities are endless. A majestic Villa, a medieval castle in Chianti to a rustic Tuscan farmhouse... the location options are plentiful and can be chosen to meet all budget ranges.

7. FoodI love food so it is no surprise that food made my number 1 spot... although the last 5 on my list are all debatable. One of the best reasons to have a destination wedding in Tuscany is the amazing food (and wine). I can assure you that an italian wedding reception is unlike any you have had anywhere else. The quality of the food, the seasonal menu choices, and the variety and abundance leaves no wedding guest unsatisfied.

Destination Wedding - Tuscany the Perfect Location!

You have probably heard about many couples getting married in this wonderful region of Italy and read their stories on magazines and newspaper where they praise pretty much everything: the weather, the food, the friendly atmosphere and affable people.

But why should a Wedding in Tuscany appeal to you
Let's see:

WEATHER
Sunny and warm days are the norm in from May- September. Although bear in mind that weather is never guaranteed.

In other months such as April can be a bit chilly especially at the beginning so you are planning a wedding in Tuscany in April, pick a date towards the end if you want better chance of a warm day.

October is also a good wonderful month to get married too. It tends to be warm during the day but after 4 pm it starts getting quite chilly. So better to schedule a day wedding.

The advantage to choose a date between May-September is also to give yourselves and your guests the opportunity to turn the event into a holiday in Tuscany. For example you could decide to the move south if Italy such as the Amalfi Coast for your honey moon where there are amazing beaches.

FOOD
Unlike weather food is indeed a guarantee anytime of the year and everywhere you go in Tuscany. Whatever area you choose for your wedding, food is always amazing. Different districts have their delicacies. The South area of Tuscany is well-known for its olive groves, grazing land and cheese production. The famous pecorino sheep cheese is produced here. This area is also famous for a particular pig breed Cinta Senese. They are black pigs with a big white strip. The breeding got discontinued and the animals nearly got extinguished. Only recently Tuscan farmers reintroduced them into their farms. The meat of "Cinta" (as the Tuscan call it) is in fact very exquisite. You want to make sure that Cinta products (ham, sausages, pork chops) are included in your wedding menu.

The famous Chianti Vineyards stretch from the east to the central area of Tuscany. This is also known as the "Chiantishire" for the numerous British ex pats that have moved here.

The north of the region has mountains so the main local products are mushrooms, chestnuts and honey.
Wild-boar is also another exquisite meat that you can find in nearly all Tuscan menu.

VENUES AND TOWN HALLS
Tuscany offers a wide range of venues. On one side you have the history and building of artistic value such as Renaissance villas, Medieval castles etc.. on the other you have countryside hamlets, farmhouses immersed in the most idyllic of countryside! We can honestly assert that Tuscan venues can please any bride. Whether it is blunt force elegance, country chic or eco style that you have in mind Tuscany has it all.

As for town halls, forget those cold government rooms. Tuscany once again amazes you with the most romantic town halls you have ever seen, amongst the most popular: Certaldo, San Gimignano, Volterra, Florence, Siena. The list is endless.

All the above wouldn't be essential if it wasn't teamed with the friendliness of the Tuscan people.
They are very animated like most Italians - I always feel that I am told off when spoken to - but really charming and hospitable. They are very exuberant but with grace and beside food they love weddings and happy ending love stories.

    The Top Ten Honeymoon Places

This is my list of the top ten honeymoon places, the perfect romantic locations that literally have it all - from great beaches and wonderful hotels to breathtaking scenery and incredible, world-class service.

On your honeymoon, you want a destination that has fewer kids and caters more to adults, specifically, couples. These places below are all exceptionally romantic, providing everything you need for your perfect romantic vacation.

    Tahiti
    1. Tahiti and Morea
Tahiti is the prototypical South Pacific paradise, with crystal clear turquoise waters, perfect white sand beaches, intimate lagoons, and the ever popular over-water bungalows that make for the perfect honeymoon suite.

    Kauai
    2. Kauai, Hawaii
Arguably the most magnificent of the Hawaiian Islands and almost definitely the most romantic, Kauai has the best beaches in the island chain, the most spectacular coastline (the Na Pali Coast), and a handful of world-class resorts.

    Phuket
    3. Phuket, Thailand
One of the most breathtakingly beautiful coastal areas anywhere on Earth, Phuket is better know to European travelers but is also growing in popularity with honeymooners from North America, who are drawn by its magnificent beaches and stunningly lush coastline.

    Banff
    4. Banff, Canada
There's no sunbathing in Banff, but the Canadian Rockies are stunningly beautiful (possibly the most picturesque mountain range on Earth), and nearby Lake Louise is simply a painfully romantic spot. It may not be the tropics, but if are looking to get away from it all amid incredible natural beauty, Banff is the place for you.

    Cabo
    5. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
With a wonderful climate, a beautiful, rugged coastline, and some of the best resorts in the world, Cabo is a great place to consider for your honeymoon. Throw in incredible golf courses, great nightlife, and world-class cuisine, and Cabo is simply one of the premiere resort destinations anywhere.

    St. Lucia
    6. St. Lucia
With its lush, soaring volcanic peaks, dense rainforest, secluded beaches, and stunning coastline, St. Lucia is one of the most romantic of the Caribbean islands. Whether you are looking for a top-notch all-inclusive resort or a smaller, cozier hotels, St. Lucia has the perfect place for you.

    Costa Rica
    7. Costa Rica
Increasingly popular with North American vacationers, Costa Rica is a tropical paradise with amazing beaches, great surf, and a wonderful laid back vibe. Not yet overdeveloped, Costa Rica still has that out of the way feel, while its hotels provide great service and wonderful local cuisine.

    St. John
    8. St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands
This gets my pick for the most beautiful of the Caribbean Islands. With the most amazing turquoise waters and perfect white sand beaches, St. John is largely covered by a U.S. national park. The couple hotels that are on the island offer world-class service. This place truly is paradise.

    Bermuda
    9. Bermuda
A short flight from the Northeastern U.S., Bermuda has its own unique feel. The island's laid back tropical vibe is colored by a strong British colonial influence, from its architecture to its historic sites. Bermuda has great weather, wonderful hotels, and a beautiful coast. A perfect place for a romantic honeymoon.

    Alaska
    10. Alaska
Hardly the place most people would think of for a honeymoon, Alaska is stunningly beautiful, peaceful, and has a romance all its own. A great way to see the state is on an Alaskan cruise. You can experience the wonders of Alaska together while celebrating your union from the luxury of a modern cruise liner. For a bit more money, try a small ship cruise - you get fewer entertainment and dining options, but your reward is an up-close look at the natural wonders of Alaska that the two of you will never forget.
